You let the Devil in 😈
Ever since he agreed to go on this trip with Zari, his mind's been turning over and over about it. Technically, yes, the Legends are adults. Some of them even managed to survive for years without them aboard (which seems miraculous now.) But that doesn't make it any easier for him to leave his hatchlings, no matter how many speeches Sara has about how they only live once and they should go enjoy themselves. And he knows Ava has pulled Zari aside to essentially say the same thing just in a more Ava type way.
The thing is, even when John is running away, it's never for long and he's usually only pretending to dick off. As he thinks back over the years, has he ever taken a real vacation? Ever? Something creepy or crawly always manages to find him wherever he goes and that's weighing heavily on his mind as well. If the team will be safe without him, will Zari be safe with him?
He keeps starting and stopping packing, not like it matters when he knows Zari is going to make him get a whole different wardrobe the second they're alone. He's been avoiding that one for long enough so he's kind of resigned to the whole affair honestly. Packing means leaving though, indefinitely the way his life goes. What if they damage the timeline by being out there together? And again, what if the Legends really really need them??
Yeah, so he's spiraling. When Zari finds him, he'll be pacing the length of his room back and forth - back and forth. Every time he crosses his suitcase, he drops something new in and/or takes something out so that the job never actually gets finished. He's so absorbed in his weird, manic ritual that he doesn't even notice her coming in until she's right in front of him. Her sudden appearance (from his perspective) actually makes him jump before he manages to focus his foggy gaze on her.

It's only when they part for air that Zari meets his eyes, gaze darkening as she meets his. Her fingers run over his length carefully and start to very gently run back and forth, catching a rhythm as she tries to stare into his eyes as long as possible while catching her breath. None of it is sustainable, but Zari is pretending not to notice. She is too present in the moment to care.

"I need your mouth again," he says sweetly, a bit of his own Cheshire smile tugging up the corners of his mouth. He moves a bit to make more room for her to rearrange on the chair, taking the opportunity to feel up her front while he can before then.

"Greedy." She chastises just as she moves to comply. Her hand stills as Zari shifts enough so she can lean down without going back to the floor. She takes him in only halfway this time, working his length by bobbing up and down to amp up the game.

"This is why it's always my day." Zari points out as she catches her breath. It isn't long before she is diving in for more, resuming her kitten licks along his tip before picking up where she left off. She wouldn't mind hearing more of that hissing.

"This was your idea," he reminds her, bemusement coming across clearly even in his thready voice. Both hands run over silk now, tugging her dress up and groping her through it unabashedly before one settles on each of her shoulders and pushes down the top altogether so the delicate fabric pools at her waist. He licks his lips at the picture before him, hips lurching forward just once and not minding as much this time when the oversensitive head of him bumps against her teeth. "You could call it off at any time." Something that excites him more than it should, that apparent too in his suddenly pitchy tone.

It's certainly mutual. Even the idea of her stopping while he has in knots. Zari briefly considers it before deciding the alternative it sweeter. She takes as much as of John in as she can, brushing her teeth carefully against his head, and moving down. One of her hands goes to steady at his hip to give her the leverage she needs to keep working him over hard with her mouth, tongue and teeth teasing John at every move even as it gets harder to breathe through her nose. She's determined to finish him off or get John ask for something else. What better rebuttal to the reminder that she can stop?

"I need to be inside you. Now." His hand cups her face gently a moment, thumb brushing across her cheekbone as adoration shines through his black gaze. She could very easily ruin him if she wanted to, and that's an entirely different fantasy of his they're sure to get to - but he starts to get a grip on her and start shifting again to make it a simple transition even as his erection purples from the denial. He knows it won't take long at all for her to push him over the edge, but he thinks she's just as close and he can't wait to see her come undone.

It's not the most comfortable or sustainable, but Zari supposes that's part of the appeal in a distant way. She's so in need of him that it's barely a flutter in the back of her brain. She moves to lower herself onto his erection, inhaling sharply as her walls all too eagerly close around him. A shiver tears through her frame, leaving her to put her hands on his shoulders to steady herself. There's no banter or excuse to tease John further. She lowers her head against his shoulder and rocks against John without further delay.
Zari moans loudly, denial making everything sharper and more intense. She resists the urge to adjust his hands, only making her arousal more intense as the denial hits her belly hard. She can't hold out for long like this, but that's fine as long as they go together.

"I might boss you around more often if this is the result," he says in a smoky tone, his smile soft rather than overtly smug, almost lackadaisical even. He holds her shirt up as the soft fabric starts slipping downward again, bunching it in his hand and watching her with boundless appreciation. "Are you ready... to get us both off, Princess?" It amazes him how hungry he can still be for her, every little noise she makes as she moves in his lap only making him want more; every bit as greedy as she accused him of being.

She's beyond words so there's no verbal response to that question. She nods against the side of his head before Zari picks it up to the most punishing pace she can. The feeling of release looms closer and closer until it hits a fever pitch. Zari manages to force something out despite how foregone she is. "Together." It's a reminder and a warning as the release comes within seconds after. Zari does her best to wring them both out before finally collapsing against him. That's certainly one way to get vacation going.

John squeezes her to him tightly before releasing inside her hotly, gasping at the sensation of it dripping back downwards. While he can't wait for that bath twofold now, he gathers her to his chest and lays kisses all over her face, finally able to outpour some of his affection now that the roleplay is over.
no subject
"Is it too soon to pass out?" She asks lazily. Zari will catch her second wind. Just give her a minute... and more kisses. She'll work for those.

"What about my bath?"

"Any more demands?" He would do just about anything for a bath and everyone knows it :(

Now that is done, Zari pulls away from John with a shaky sigh. It's probably worth exploring how much she hates when they part like this, but her therapist is still working on the whole recurring dreams that her friends are torn to pieces in front of her after her brother gets killed by some weirdo serial killer with no eyebrows. The codependency will have to wait! "Get to work, sweetie." Zari orders as she goes for the traveling bag with all their bath stuff.

"Fine, but you have to help me back into it," is his only protest to her long speech, managing to kiss her forehead a last time before she unfortunately pulls away entirely. John is just as devastated by their parting and they all know he doesn't believe in therapy so it's probably fine. "A few more rounds, huh?"
Of course is the part he'd latch onto, even while prying himself out of the chair with an overly dramatic and nearly geriatric-sounding grunt. He gathers up his water on his way to get her a fresh bottle, stealing a last glance at her as she disappears into the ensuite.

Zari starts the water, puts in a few drops of the lavender essential oil they both seem to love, and quickly moves to get everything set up. Much like the Waverider bathroom, her things quickly take over their bathroom. He'll walk in on her unpacking and arranging them carefully around their space. She does bother to stop long enough to take the water from him. "Finally." Less of a complaint and more of just how thirsty she is. Zari has to make a considerable effort not to down it all in one shot, taking slow sips instead. "We should be good to go in five." She promises. It is the best giant bathtub money can buy. Of course it fills fast.
no subject
"Can't wait," he admits softly, taking another little gulp before setting his water on the counter for later, trying not to get in her way. "And to think I was worried about overpacking." He has to give her shit about this, right? It feels like an obligation after the episode he had, not to mention how many trips it actually took him to get all her shit in here.

"Come here. I live to serve, remember?"
no subject
"You do." Her smile is blinding even if as usual she guards her heart with casual tone like they're playing a game. She joins him quickly, stopping just a step before him so they can adjust their position so they can both be under the spray. Zari pays no concern to the tub. It'll stop automatically and retain the heat for some time.
She sighs softly as the warm water hits her. The smell of lavender soothes her further. "I am going to need a thorough example of how you plan to do that starting... now."

She's somehow both overwhelmed and happy by something as simple as John washing her chest. "You're quiet." Zari notes without any criticism, smile soft as she regards him. She doesn't have much to say either. She allows the comfortable silence to drag on as he works and tries not to fill it with quips and banter for a change.
